Scripture

"Godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death." — 2 Corinthians 7:10

The Fire

When was the last time you wept over your sin? When was the last time conviction gripped your heart so tightly you could barely breathe? We've lost the fear of God. We've traded conviction for comfort. We've replaced repentance with therapeutic self-affirmation. We've turned grace into a license for carelessness.

The modern gospel says, 'God loves you just the way you are.' That's a half-truth that births whole lies. Yes, God loves you. But He loves you too much to leave you the way you are. His love is not passive acceptance—it's fierce transformation. David didn't say, 'I made a mistake.' He said, 'Against thee, thee only, have I sinned.' Peter didn't say, 'I had a moment of weakness.' He wept bitterly. Isaiah didn't say, 'Nobody's perfect.' He cried, 'Woe is me! I am undone!'

That's godly sorrow. That's true conviction. Not worldly regret over consequences. Not shame over being caught. Not embarrassment over reputation. But genuine heartbreak over offending a holy God. We need the Holy Spirit to convict us again. Not to condemn—there's no condemnation in Christ. But to convict. To show us the ugliness of our sin. To let us feel the weight of our rebellion. To break our hearts over what breaks His.

You can't truly repent of sin you don't hate. And you can't hate sin until you see it the way God sees it. Not as a small mistake, not as a weakness, not as a 'struggle'—but as cosmic treason against the King of the universe. Sin cost God His Son. It cost Jesus His life. It cost the Father the agony of turning His face away as His beloved Son bore your guilt. And you treat it casually?

Let the reality pierce your heart: your sin nailed Jesus to the cross. Your pride drove the spikes. Your lust wove the crown of thorns. Your greed and hatred and selfishness tore His flesh. When this truth grips you—really grips you—you'll weep. And those tears will be the beginning of genuine transformation.

The Mission

Watch a depiction of the crucifixion today. Not as a movie, but as reality. As you watch, ask the Holy Spirit to connect your deliverance from sins and sickness to the suffering of Christ. Let yourself feel the weight. Acknowledging how your sins contributed to His agony. Don't hold back tears.
